Liberty Mutual, a leader in the insurance industry, is looking for two dynamic and forward-thinking Directors of Data Science to join our US Retail Markets (USRM) Claims Data Science team. These new roles will focus on either Auto Physical Damage or Property claims. This is a unique opportunity to leverage cutting-edge technology, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Computer Vision, to revolutionize the claims process.
As a Director of Data Science, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Liberty Mutual’s claims operations. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and efficiency, positioning Liberty Mutual as a leader in the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Collaboration: Work with the claims process, experience, technology, and analytics teams to enhance the accuracy, compassion, and efficiency of our claims operations.
- Leadership: Manage and develop a team of data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
- Model Management: Oversee the lifecycle of data science models, from ideation to deployment, and ensure their ongoing performance in the market.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Data Science Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the data science lifecycle, including problem identification, model training, deployment, and performance monitoring.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Experience working with non-data science stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable data science solutions.
- Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, setting clear goals and supporting professional development.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Managerial Experience: Prior experience managing a data science or analytics team.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Property & Casualty (P&C) claims processes and related technologies.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Python, ML Ops, NLP, and LLMs.
